
RuPaul has paid tribute to Drag Race winner The Vivienne, who has tragically died. In a post on Instagram, RuPaul said the star, who was born in Colwyn Bay, was “an incredibly talented queen and a lovely human being”.
The performer, whose real name was James Lee Williams, was RuPaul wrote in an Instagram post: “With a broken heart, I join the entire Drag Race universe in mourning the loss of The Vivienne — an incredibly talented queen and a lovely human being.”
The Vivienne rose to fame in 2019 after winning the first-ever series of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK and also had other TV roles which saw them starring in Morning T&T on WOW Presents Plus and Three series The Vivienne Takes on Hollywood.
They also starred in the Netflix show I Like to Watch and took part the 2020 special of The Great British Sewing Bee. They were also and also became the first drag act to reach the show’s finale, finishing in third place.
