A 28-year-old man from Barry has tragically died in a motorbike crash in Thailand. Corey Beavis, who was described by his devastated family as a “genuine person with nothing but love for the people around him”, died on Saturday, January 4.
His family said: “On Saturday we received the devastating news our beautiful boy lost his life following a motorcycle accident. Corey lit up any room he walked into with his larger than life character and his infectious laugh.
“He had so much left to give this world, but also lived a life 10 times beyond his wildest imagination. He was a real genuine person with nothing but love for the people around him.
“As a family we’ve suffered immeasurable loss and now have to face the realities of repatriation and laying our beautiful boy to rest. Having not had travel & life insurance policies in place, the significant costs surrounding this are unimaginable.”
Corey’s family, including twin brother Liam, are fundraising to try and bring Corey home. On Monday Corey’s brother Liam told the BBC Corey had “lived his life to the fullest”.
A popular and well-known figure in Barry, the fundraising page, which you can see here, has raised almost £13,000 in a little over a day. On Monday, the Foreign and Commonwealth Office said it was supporting the family of a British man who died in Thailand and are in contact with the authorities in Thailand.
